Ink on parchment; shaped sheet silver, repoussé and engraved, silver thread; sheet brass, cut and shaped.
1. Amulet in rectangular format, to protect the woman "Baya daughter of Mantina," (inscribed in Hebrew) to bless her with health and pregnancy. Amulet folded up into a small square and housed in a case made of brass sheet, cut and shaped. The name "Baya" was common in Tunisia. Case: 3.5X3 cm.
2. Amulet in long, narrow format, to protect "Mazal daughter of Sa'adah," and bless her with security and health. Written in strikingly elegant square script. Kept in a flowery-patterned cloth, housed in turn inside a silver case, with two suspension loops and with an ornament in the form of a Star of David. Case: 5X4.5 cm. Fair condition.
