On the second title page of the book, stamps of Rabbi Meir Shapira of Lublin. On the upper part of the title page, his signature: "The young Meir Shapira". The book contains two scholarly glosses handwritten by him.
Bound with the book 'Divrei Ge'onim' (Ungvar, 1870).
Rabbi Yehuda Meir Shapira of Lublin (1887-1934) was Rosh Av Beit Din and Ram of Piotrkow. He was one of the rabbis of Poland and one of the leaders of Agudat Yisrael before the Holocaust. He was the founder of Yeshivat Chachmei Lublin and of the Daf Yomi.
