Edmund Irvine, Jr., known as Eddie (Newtownards, 10 November 1965), is a former British racing driver, runner-up in the Formula 1 world championship in 1999.

Coming from Northern Ireland, after competing for several years in the minor categories of motor racing, winning the British Formula Ford title in 1987, he managed to participate in ten Formula 1 championships, from 1993 to 2002. His debut was with Jordan, a team with which he raced until 1995. In 1996 he was hired by Ferrari with whom he obtained his best results: four Grand Prix victories and second place in the 1999 drivers' standings (the year of Michael Schumacher's tibia and fibula injury).

Having moved to Jaguar in 2000, he ended his career in the top series with the English team two seasons later. After his experience in Formula 1 he retired from the world of racing, dedicating himself to the management of various companies he owned.

Eddie Irvine was born in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, to Edmund senior and Kathleen on 10 November 1965. He spent his childhood in the small village of Conlig with his family, including his older sister Sonia, who in the following years acted as his physiotherapist until 1999. He completed his studies at Regent House Grammar School, without ever particularly excelling in his results.

Irvine was considered an atypical driver in the panorama of modern Formula 1; he was known for his flirtations with various women.
