Our Lady of Fatima, The Angel of Portugal Statue
Painstakingly hand carved and painted wooden statue of The Virgin Mary during the apparitions in Fatima Portugal, 1917. Bringing a warning and message to achieve peace, this gorgeously realistic statue is depicted standing on a cloud, revealing Her Immaculate Heart, surrounded by thorns, that represented God's outrage at the sins of humanity. Her meticulous detail shows the exquisite craftsmanship and the ethereal light of God through her hands, her radiant robes, her glass eyes, and the bejeweled crown that adorns her head. She is complete with a stunning mother-of-pearl Rosary, as she reminds her witnesses of the gravity of sin and the efficacy of the daily recitation of the Rosary. Created at a height to be worshipped in Church or for a town center, this piece of art is splendid in its beauty and message.
