Following a number of tragic infant deaths shortly after circumcision in London around 1900 resulted in an investigation and in the development by local Mohel Alexander Tertis of a suction tube for the practice of Metzitza. A full discussion of this subject with numerous letters of support from contemporary rabbis, as well as an account of the controversy surrounding it, is included in this book.
