CHINESE SHOUSHAN STONE CARVED LANDSCAPE
A well carved Chinese Shoushan stone landscape with 3 figures (including a wiseman), boats, walls, water buffalo and a large tree. It is smooth well colored and carved on all sides. It includes a box and a description of the location of the stone. From an Upstate New York collection, measuring 4" W x 1" H ( 9cm W x 4.5cm H) Weight .9LB (400g)
Shoushan stone carving originated in Fujian Province of East China. The stones are also known as agalmatolite and are mined in the Shoushan village in northern Fujian.
