Tra i tanti confronti possibili, citiamo la tela presente al Glasgow Museum, Uomini della cavalleria vicino ad una tenda, oppure Accampamento accanto a una casa, conservata Fitzwilliam Museum a Cambridge. Di quest’ultima opera, oltre alla tipica impostazione e all’amato tema, si noti come si ritrovino la medesima quinta composta da un accampamento e le figure che si allontanano voltando le spalle all’osservatore. Pieter Wouwerman era il fratello dei pittori paesaggisti Jan e Philips Wouwerman, i quali seguivano i modi bamboccianti di Pieter van Laer. Fu allievo di Roelant Roghman, nonché suo fratello maggiore Philips e suo padre Pouwels. Le sue opere spesso confuse con quelle del fratello Philips, e sono conservate in numerosi musei del mondo.

Among the many possible comparisons, we mention the canvas present at the Glasgow Museum, Men of the cavalry near a tent, or Camp next to a house, kept at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. Of this last work, in addition to the typical setting and the beloved theme, it should be noted that the same wing can be found, consisting of a camp and the figures who move away, turning their backs on the observer.
