A LARGE CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN BOWL, MING DYNASTY, 16TH CENTURY. Decorated with just a geometric band around the exterior foot wall whereas the inner surface is particularly elaborately decorated. In the centre is a standing bird, presumably a heron, together with various plants and blossoms. The surrounding wall is decorated with a pattern featuring lotus leaf panels and tassels. Ming Dynasty, second half of the 16th century, c.1560-1580. 18cm diam. There is a hairline to the wall and a small chip to the rim. No signs of repair or restoration.
