Leilão Bidspirit | A LARGE MOULDED DEHUA QINGBAI

A LARGE MOULDED DEHUA QINGBAI PORCELAIN BOX, CHINESE SONG / YUAN DYNASTY. Made at the Dehua kilns in Fujian province. Both upper and lower parts are decorated with moulded patterns. The centre of the cover is decorated with a floral pattern surrounded by a fluted pattern. The wall of the lower section is also fluted. Both inner and outer surfaces are coated in a Qingbai glaze that has just a hint of blue. The slightly concave base remains unglazed. 13th – 14th Century. This is an unusually large example of its type with a diameter of 16.75cm (6.5 inches) There are minor chips to the sharp edge of the lower section. No repair or restoration.
