A CHINESE WHITE JADE BRUSH WASHER / WATER POT, QING DYNASTY. In the form of a hollowed peach on a gnarled branch bearing a smaller peach. To the end of the branch a seated monkey. On intricately carved and pierced wood stand in the form of an intertwining branch with peaches and leaves. Jade 7.5cm length. Jade weight 104.7 grams. Together with a copy of Insurance valuation from Sotheby & Co. London 1974. Provenance: Property of Dr.G.W.Milledge acquired during his time in China c.1930s, thence by descent. Good overall condition with no signs of damage or repair.
