Leilão Bidspirit | A CHINESE EMBROIDERED PINK-GROUND SILK

A CHINESE EMBROIDERED PINK-GROUND SILK GAUZE LADY'S ROBE, EARLY 20TH CENTURY. The pink ground with flower roundels, edged with black panels embroidered with butterflies, leafy branches and flowers, with pierced gilt-metal toggles. Approx. 133cm long. Provenance: Property of Dr.G.W.Milledge acquired during his time in China c.1930s, thence by descent. In good order overall and colours are bright. Some slight tearing to black silk and gauze at collar and edge of robe. The edge of sleeves with some wear and very minor tearing, loose stitching under each arm, some minor staining to pink gauze, very minor tearing to gauze, some loose areas of stitching to black silk panels, minor fraying at edges and minor wear throughout including to toggle loops.
