A CHINESE EMBROIDERED SILK PALE PINK- GROUND WOMEN'S JACKET, LATE 19TH/20TH CENTURY. The pale pink damask edged in black silk, embroidered with butterflies and flowers, the pink sleeves embroidered in coloured silks and gold thread with a dog of fo perched on rockwork below prunus and a pheasant amongst flowers, black silk toggles and blue silk lining. 82cm long. Provenance: Property of Dr.G.W.Milledge acquired during his time in China c.1930s, thence by descent. Some staining and tears to pale pink damask silk at under arm area and sleeves, slight looses and damages to pink silk, some minor loose threads at sleeves, slight splitting at joins to centre back, some slight fading and minor repairs to lining.
