A COLLECTION OF CHINESE SILK HATS. Including: a child's purple silk processional hat with sprung applique mask to front and jewelled and sequinned panels suspending tassels, a black silk hat embroidered with flowers and three black silk hats. (5). Provenance: Property of Dr.G.W.Milledge acquired during his time in China c.1930s, thence by descent. The children's hat with some losses to applique decoration and tassels. The mask possibly lacking a spring as it is not supported on the single spring. Some wear. The black embroidered at with fraying to black silk edges, later elastic with repairs. Two of the black silk hats with some tearing and damages to black silk, old repairs. All black silk hats are slightly misshapen.
