A COLLECTION OF CHINESE EMBROIDERED FRAGMENTS, COLLARS AND OTHER ITEMS. Including: a red silk fragment embroidered with two dragons and phoenix, a green silk panel with gold thread fretwork, a phoenix and butterflies, a pair of black silk trouser support bands, an embroidered linen pocket, a pair of painted silk pictures with birds and prunus, a net-gauze double panel with butterflies and flowers and other items. Provenance: Property of Dr.G.W.Milledge acquired during his time in China c.1930s, thence by descent. The majority of items are fragmentary and are cut down and therefore there are some loose threads. The black silk garters/trouser bands have some tears, wear and slight staining, the linen pockets with some brown staining, a pale yellow silk scarf with roundels and key pattern with some tearing. Some wear throughout.
