A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN DINNER SERVICE, TONGZHI, 19TH CENTURY. Service for five persons comprising: Five large dishes; five medium dishes; five small dishes; five saucers; five large bowls; five medium bowls; five lobed cups; five lobed sauce dishes; five spoons; five small spoons. All decorated with birds, insects and peony blooms with six-character marks of Tongzhi (1861-75) to base. Largest dishes 22cm diam. (50) One large dish with a 4cm hairline vertical from rim. Three bowls have hairline cracks, one with second crack approx. 4 cm long. Otherwise the rest are in good overall condition. No repairs with minor nicks to rim on some.
