A master violin from 1925 by Pierre Jean Henri Hel, Lille 1884 - 1931). Includes a violin bow, marked Eugène Eberle, Rotterdam,
Henri was the son, student and successor of the French maker Joseph Hel, also from Lille. Pierre Hel was an excellent French maker. In 1900 he won his first prize in Paris, in 1904 in St. Louis, Missouri and 1906 in Milan. Pierre was a violin maker at the conservatory in Lille and the Conservatoire Royal de La Haye (The Hague). This beautiful instrument is in excellent condition, has a mature, refined sound and features beautiful flamed wood. The violin has been in the same hands since the 1950s. Then through inheritance from the current owner.
