Mappe work with ten inserted chalk lithographs, a facsimile preface by General von Lettow-Vorbeck and a cover sheet, here titled "Lettow-Mappe Kwaheri Askari Auf Wiedersehen Askari" as well as handwritten dedication by Walter von Ruckteschell, dated with signature "Walter von Ruckteschell 23. II. (19)22", published 1921, each sheet monogrammed and titled in print, cover and introduction a little bit brownstained, sheet dimensions ca. 47,5 x 35 cm. Artist's info: real name Walter Alexander Moritz von Ruckteschell, German painter, graphic artist, illustrator and author (1882 St. Petersburg to 1941 Liparic Islands), childhood and youth in Hamburg, studied painting in Hamburg, from 1908 studied at the Academy of Arts with Angelo Jank, changed to the Debschitz-School, 1911 married Clara Trueb, 1913 travelled for several years with Carl von Allis to the colonies of German East Africa, volunteered in World War I and took part in the battle of Tillabong. After the war he designed several war memorials, from 1920 he was a member of the Hamburg Artists' Association, the couple settled in Dachau, co-initiator of the Dachau Artists' Association, in 1933 he moved to Munich and became head of the Munich Artists' Association, he was classified as a degenerate artist, in 1939 he took part in the Great German Art Exhibition in Munich, he was a soldier in the Second World War, source: Thieme-Becker, Vollmer, Matrikelbücher der Akademie der Künste in München and Wikipedia.
