Exceptional Yi Dynasty Antique Korean Pot
Rare, perhaps unique, a thickly potted and rather large barrel form porcelain vase. With curled over rim, a pale blue ground, painted in darker gradiant blues, the designs consisting of eight diapered pattern painted double gourd vessels, most with deeply carved in cords, tassels or ribbons which are slip painted in white or gilding. Fine condition, last half of the 19th century to early 20th. A palm or tree pot, it is 10 1/8 inches high by 9 1/2 inches across.
