Exceptional Taino Ballgame Yoke
A powerful and early example of full form, 2nd phase, circa 1000-1200 AD Exceptionally carved allover and with a full bodied relief of a humanoid/Zemi and a pair of owl head nodules in pale green stone. As best speculated , this form is an over the shoulder handicap or penalty in execution of the important ballgames. A tight natural stone fissure exits down the upper area of the extremely rare relief figure, the exotic stone untouched with all excavated residue attatched. Were it preferred washed and polished, it would reveal a fine light sea green surface. museum rarity and quality , large and substantial oval form. 15 1/2" x 12 1/2" across to 3" deep
