A fine Old Master painting, Italian, early to mid 16th century, a medium size oil on a now cradled wood panel, likely Tuscan and Florentine. Eleven figures, seven in adoration, the seated Madonna with Child standing on her lap, as she is being crowned by two angelico floating above. She with rosary beads, the Child with flower.and also beads. An oval wood frame liner applied later, the panel squared, the painted panel may have more under that, (not removed or ever checked).The wood panel has been shaved down by probably half and holds about a hundred years old museum quality cradling, the frame is fine, fully carved and undercut wood, antique but probably only late 18th century. The painting has various old quality touch ups and in painting, it displays nicely just as it is. The sight size is 17" high x 12.5" wide, overall, 22" x 18'. Note; it was said, the many years ago museum conservation/restoration/cradeling has cost more than $1,000.****This, an item from a local elder, older than his 60 years, up until this past month, a very active, eclectic and constant collector.
