Knesset HaGedolah, Even HaEzer section. Rabbi Chaim Benvenisti's basic book containing Halachic novellae and responsa on the Shulchan Aruch. First edition, Izmir 1731. Stefansky Sifrei Yesod 170. [2], 220 leaves. Moth perforations and some moth damage. Stains and some other blemishes. Except for this, good overall condition. Semi-leather binding with moth damage. 


Pedigreed copy with a dedication by the Rishon LeZion Rabbi Raphael Meyuchas Ben Shmuel Author of Pri HaAdamah: "מנחה היא שלוחה לרב חביבי הרב הכולל כמ... מאיר מרגי הי"ו, וזהו הנמצא כעת ולימים עוד אקיים מצות שלוח שני חלקים מי"ד ל... את... במ"ק נאם נא"ה הצעיר רפאל מיוחס בכ"ר שמואל". Later, an additional notation signed by "הצעיר רחמים שלמה הלוי".


The author, Rabbi Chaim Benvenisti (1603-1677) one of the important rabbis of Izmir and one of the greatest Poskim of all time. The son of Rabbi Yisrael and a disciple of the Maharit. His Torah was written in his books and he was known as Ba'al Knesset HaGedolah after this book.


The writer of the dedication: Rabbi Raphael Meyuchas (1701-1771) the Rishon LeZion and one of the leading rabbis of Jerusalem. The son of Rabbi Shmuel of the Meyuchas family which immigrated to Eretz Yisrael after the expulsion from Spain, the grandson of Rabbi Yisrael Yaakov Hagiz and great-grandson of Rabbi Moshe Galanti, and the brother of Rabbi Avraham Meyuchas the author of Sdeh HaAretz. Author of Pri HaAdamah and more. 


The owner of the book: Rabbi Meir Margi, apparently Rabbi Meir ben Margi, Av Beit Din and Ram of Salonika. Referred to in the Chida's books. See: Arzei Halevanon 1427. 


The buyer of the book: Rabbi Rachamim Shlomo Halevi (passed away in 1874) one of the important rabbis of Jerusalem and Kabbalists of the Beit El Yeshiva. The son of Rabbi Raphael Halevi, who was also one of the sages and Shadarim of Jerusalem. Was sent as a Shadar to Kushta, Izmir and elsewhere. About him, see Arzei Halevanon, p. 1911.
