Sefer Sha’arei Avodah - Chassidut. First edition, Shklov 1821. Incomplete Copy

Sefer Sha'arei Avodah also known as Avodat Habeinonim, an important Chassidic work by the  Admor Rabbi Aharon HaLevi Horowitz of Starosel, a leading disciple of the Baal HaTanya. This work deals with his Rebbe's doctrine and explains his ways. In practice, he disagrees with the Mittler Rebbe in understanding his father’s doctrine but both are Divrei Elokim Chaim.

First edition - Shklov, 1821. Originally, [16], 12, 17-49, 52, 70, 60, 22 leaves. In this copy, [15] leaves following the title page are missing including the table of errors and foreword. Stefansky Chassidut #589. In the Rare Book Collection of the National Library.

Printed mostly on bluish paper. Ancient leather binding from the time of printing with a later embossment. Some loose leaves. Stains. Some leaves with slightly short margins. Some moth perforations, slightly affecting some headings. Good overall condition.
