Approbation from the Great Halachic Authority Rabbi Moshe Stern, ABD Debrecen, for the Work of the Melitz Rebbe.

A beautiful letter of approbation for the work Peirot Ha'Ilan, from the Rebbe, "the sharp and knowledgeable genius, outstanding and renowned among wise and discerning scholars, a God-fearing individual, the fruit of the etrog tree, Rabbi Naftali Asher Yeshaya Moskowitz."

Rabbi Moshe Stern, known as the "Debreciner Rav" [1914–1997], author of Be'er Moshe, was one of the great halachic authorities in the United States and one of the foremost responsa writers of his generation. He was the son of Rabbi Avraham Stern, author of Melitzei Esh, and the grandson of the elderly Rabbi Yosef Meir Tigerman, Av Beit Din of Nyégyház, who perished in sanctification of God's name during the Holocaust. After the war, Rabbi Stern served as Av Beit Din of Debrecen and Nyégyház in Hungary and was extensively involved in resolving issues concerning agunot (women whose husbands were missing and could not remarry) after the horrific war.

Around 1950, he moved to Argentina, and about a year later, he relocated to the United States, where he served as the rabbi of the Kehillat Yesodei HaTorah in New York. He became known worldwide as one of the leading halachic authorities. His many responsa were published in his She'elot U'Teshuvot Be'er Moshe (8 volumes), and his novellae, Chiddushei Be'er Moshe, which have been reprinted in several editions. His rulings are studied and cited in many study halls.
