Letter by Rabbi Shimon Strasser from Pressburg. 1918 - Letter by Rabbi Shimon Strasser from Pressburg. 1918 A request for a Smicha and a long Chidush Torah in Mesechet Pesachim. Rabbi Shimon Hacohen Strasser was the son of Rabbi Akiva of Myjava, a student of the Daat Sofer and Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Dushinsky and the son-in-law of Rabbi Nachum Greenwald of Csorna. Rabbi Shimon was a rabbi and teacher in Pressburg and Csorna and edited Hama’ayan – the publication of the Pressburg yeshiva alumni - jointly with Rabbi Shmuel Binyamin Sofer. Rabbi Shimon was murdered by the Nazis in 1944.
