Letter from the Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Hillel Unsdorfer, the Av Beit Din of Lučenec - Letter from the Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Hillel Unsdorfer, the Av Beit Din of Lučenec A long halachic question letter regarding the agunah (wife whose husband’s whereabouts and fate are unknown) of a resident of Lučenec, Shlomo Tzvi Weider. The question closes with, “ according to whatever the gaon says, we will follow that path…” Rabbi Hillel Unsdorfer (1891-1945) was the son of Rabbi Mordechai Aryeh of Guta. Rabbi Hillel was the Av Beit Din of Lučenec and died in a labor camp in 1945. His sons-in-law were Rabbi Chaim Elya Felberman, the Av Beit Din of Nagyida and Rabbi Moshe Meir Spitzer, who became a rabbi and educator in Montreal and Brooklyn.
