Pardes Rimonim. Koritz, 1786

Sefer Pardes Rimonim, by Rabbi Moshe Cordovero. 32 chapter for 32 paths of wisdom. With Kabalistic illustrations. On the title page: “Printed for the second time”.

Rabbi Moshe Cordovero [1522-1570], one of the greatest Kabbalists of all time, Rabbi of the Ari. In this book, he attempted to resolve various long-time disputes between Kabbalists and to reach a final ruling about the various opinions quoted in the books which preceded him. Despite the differences between the Kabbalah of the Ramak and the Ari, the Ari said about him “Moshe is truth and his Torah is truth in the world of belimah”. Kabbalists understood from this that the two approaches – of the Ramak and the Ari – do not contradict each other, but each refer to a different stage in the process of creation.
