Biblia Hebraica – Tanach, Berlin 1699. A Massive Wide-Margined Copy
A beautiful copy of the Tanach, printed in Berlin in 1699.
This copy features massive, uncut wide margins – an uncommon phenomenon for Hebrew Bibles.
This is the very first Hebrew Bible to be printed in Berlin.
Title page features a copper engraving with various scenes. With separate title pages for Nevi’im Rishonim, Acharonim, and Kesuvim. Includes a preface in Latin from the publisher, who also added [2] pages of musical notes of the Cantillation points (“Taamei Hamikrah”).
In very good condition, printed on thick, high quality paper. All edges gilt. Bound in a magnificent new binding. Handwritten glosses in Latin seen on many leaves.
Page size: 22.5x19.5cm
[33], 508, [9] pp.
