Inside the programme are some notes by Neruda: (Romeo and Juliet is not just a story of absolute love, but also a cantata against hate and war, a painful and elevated message for peace between men. I have translated it with devotion so that the words of Shakespeare can be communicated to everyone, in our language, the transparent fire that has been burning in them without consuming themselves, for centuries.
