There are more than eight hundred corrections and notes, and around 50 differences from the principal edition, including the last verses of the book which makes a great change to the moral of the work. Numbered by hand in green ink in Roman numerals. Different types of paper. The work is accompanied by a signed, handwritten letter with its respective postmarked envelope, from Neruda to Rita Guibert, editor and friend. Mailed from the Hotel du Quai Voltaire in Paris, exactly four months before the work was published in its first edition by Losada.
