David and Sara Brandwein arrived in Seoul, Korea in 1967 where David managed the Eisenberg company till 1970. This was their first stay there and where they developed a keen interest in Korean antiques.

After three years they moved to Taiwan where David was appointed the manager of the company's office. There they started collecting Chinese art.

In 1975 they returned to Korea to head the company office. In 1978 they returned to Taiwan where David established his independent business  and Sara managed a large and successful office of a Belgian export company. They stayed there till 1982.
