Letter dated 1874, sent by the officers of the Churvas Rabbi Yehuda Hachasid Synagogue in Yerushalayim, expressing condolence to Sir Moses Montefiore on the passing of his sister. They inform him that her name has been entered into the Pinkas of the synagogue for special prayers and lighting of candles, during the first year and on her yarzeit.
The second part of the letter refers to a solution found for problems experienced due to the location of a well on the Synagogue premises.

The letter is signed by the Synagogue officers, including: Rabbi Eliyahu Sarason, Rabbi of Peizer, Rabbi Aryeh Leib Marcus of Keidan and Rabbi Baruch b. Rabbi Yehuda Leib.
