Rabbi Isser Yehuda Unterman; letter to editor of Shaarei Tzion rabbinical journal together with 6-page halachic treatise and letter.
The letter also refers to his a previous one containing memories of the Chafetz Chaim. 1935.
Long letters on halachic issues by Rabbi Unterman are very rare.
Rabbi Isser Yehuda Unterman (1886-1972), studied under Rabbi Simcha Zelig of Brisk and Rabbi Shimon Shkopf and at the Volozhin Yeshiva. Rabbi of a number of communities in Lithuania before taking up the position of Rabbi of Liverpool with the encouragement of Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzenski. Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv (1946) and Chief Rabbi of Israel (1964). Author of Shevet Miyehuda.
