The first volume includes the two parts of the work, the second, the "Addiciones". The set comprises everything the author has published in Portugal, with the remaining editions having been published in Spain. Friar António Alvarez († 1598), Franciscan of the Province of Santiago (of Portugal), was born in Benavente (Zamora, Spain) and was a renowned preacher in his order. The two volumes are lightly trimmed and with very some foxing. Handwritten ownership on the title page of the first part; occasional minor stains. Curious handwritten ownership on the flyleaf of the second volume: "Este livro he de Fr. Pantaleão do P[or]to. foi do irmão Fr. Fr[ncis]co de Villa Real Pregador. Fr. Pantaleão do P[or]to". Otherwise, a clean copy. Contemporary bindings, full flexible parchment (with labels glued to the backs), keeping two ties. Anselmo, 807. National Library (16th century), 11th and 10. D. Manuel II Library does not mention it.
