MOULIN JEAN PIERRE: (1899-1943) French President of the National Council of the Resistance during World War II. Widely regarded as one of the main heroes of the French Resistance. Moulin was tortured by German Nazi Gestapo officer Klaus Barbie and died as a result of these tortures. Rare T.L.S., `Jean Moulin´, one page, 4to, Paris, 29th January 1937, to Maurice Bellonte, in French. On the Ministry of Aviation, Minister´s Office, of the French Republic, Moulin states in part `I am honoured announcing to you that the Minister has decided that a conference will be held at the Aviation Ministry on the 1st of February 1937 under the presidency of Monsieur Moulin, chief of the Minister´s office.´ Further reporting `The matter under study being French material for the test New-York - Paris.´ Moulin kindly requests his correspondent´s presence at that meeting.
