Attributable to the Tarquinia Painter, ca. 460 BC
diam. cm 25; height cm 10
Into the inner tondo, inscribed in a continuos meander, two standing draped youngs, advance towards the center, with a suspended rod between them. On the external surface, a sequence of conversation scenes between cloached youngs; among them, staffs, sandals, shields are suspended. Under the handles, specularly arranged, two altar.
Restored with minor reconstructions.
Provenance. Private collection, London; already in the collection of a Belgian gentlewoman since 1970s (old family photos that show it).
