About The Artist:
Born in 1969, England. Immigrated to Israel at the age of five, in 1969. Jacobs studied
animation in Bezalel School of Art in Jerusalem, art studies in Central St. Martin Collage
of Art in London, as well as photography in Camera Obscura in Israel. After dedicating a
decade to animation, the artist went back to painting oil on canvass. The return to the
‘real’ material after a long time of digital making wasn’t obvious.
The theme of the first paintings was the opera: choosing primes and setting them on
canvas. Nowadays the spectrum of his themes is much wider, from trivial ones to
surrealistic montage.
Jacobs participated in group exhibitions in Israel.
