Collection of Documents - Policeman and Customs Officer in the Palestine Police
Collection of documents of William Williams who served in Eretz Israel as a policeman and customs-officer on behalf of the Palestine Police, ca.1933-1947. English.
Collection includes: certificates concerning Williams' service; draft of a book (about 400 typewritten leaves) by Wyndham Morgan (Williams's pseudonym?) telling the story of a Welsh boy who leaves home and joins the British army and later serves as a policeman in Palestine; two notebooks with summaries of lessons in a policemen course which was part of Williams' training; tens of typewritten leaves, various general comments, responses to articles, and more.
It is evident in the documents that Williams supported Jews in Palestine and the Jewish opposition movements, and was against restricting Jewish immigration to Eretz Israel. Total of hundreds of leaves. Size and condition varies.
