Agnon's first book. The story was written in Neve- Zedek late in 1911 during four days and was published, in nine sections, in "HaPo'el HaTza'ir". In order to finance the printing of the book, Brenner used his belt as a collateral. [2] Leaves, 3-64, [1] pp, 17 cm. Good condition. Title-page and lining-leaves fastened with adhesive tape. Simple cardboard binding, of the printing period, somewhat worn. Elaborate cardboard case.
