Letter by Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer to Rabbi Shmuel Yitzchak Hillman and to the management of Beit Midrash Ohel Torah. Jerusalem, Tishrei (1938). In the letter Rabbi Isser Zalman requests on behalf of Rabbi Mordechai Ilander son-in-law of Rabbi Y. Arielli"¦ given that I am aware of Rabbi Mordechai Ilander's tremendous capabilities I request¦ to admit him into the Yeshiva as a student".
Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer (1870-1954), author of"Even HaEzal", disciple of Rabbi Chaim of Brisk in the Yeshiva of Volozhin. Served as Av Beit Din and Rosh Yehsiva of Slutsk. Immigrated to Jerusalem in 1924 and was appointed primary teacher in the"Etz Chaim" Yeshiva. Among the heads of the"Council of Torah Sages".
