Interesting documents and letters from the archives of Rabbi Meir Karelitz (1877-1955), the oldest and trusted brother of the Chazon Ish. Son in law of Rabbi Shlomo HaCohen of Vilna, author of Cheshek Shlomo, he served as Rabbi of Lachovitz and was a leader of Charedi Jewry in Poland and Eretz Yisrael. One of the founders of Va'ad HaYeshivot in Vilna and in Eretz Yisrael. A member of Mo'etzet Gedolei HaTorah of Agudat Yisrael, a rabbi and spiritual leader of Po'alei Agudat Yisrael. These documents from the initial years of the State of Israel are very interesting and clarify various chapters of history regarding state and religion in those years.

"¦ my conclusion is: The only institute that has the authority to decide this question is Mo'etzet Gedolei HaTorah¦ ". *Handwritten draft of the opening speech for the Agudat Yisrael convention in the US. Written in the speech: "This great honor bestowed upon me is not in my merit, but because I have the same name as the greatest and only leader of this generation¦ ". *A copy of correspondence between David Ben-Gurion and Rabbi Yitzchak Levine. In his letter, Ben Gurion summarizes the understandings reached on the issues of state and religion, with a copy of the response written by Rabbi Levine. *A copy of additional correspondence on these issues. *Protocol of a meeting of Mo'etzet Gedolei HaTorah at the end of Nissan 1949. *Letters and more items.
