Monumental work, can be considered a general history of the Kingdom, so varied are the information it contains. The Evidence also presents undeniable interest since they transcribe missing documents in the meantime. The copy confers exactly with the description indicated to us by Inocêncio (I, p. 101) although the first 12 volumes of history are bound by 14 volumes (the volumes XI and XII are divided into two volumes); six volumes of the Tests and the volume of Index do follow. The first volume includes the well-known allegorical frontispiece, engraved by Rochefort, according to Vieira lusitano's original, as well as the portrait of the author. Volume IV contains the engravings of the royal seals, medals and coins minted in Portugal since the beginning of the monarchy. A specimen with wormholes in all volumes, affecting about 50% of the leaves, including the typed area. Small bookplate by Luís Vasques da Cunha e Ataíde (1698-1761), 2nd Count of Povolde, glued to the back of the title pages (Sérgio A. Duarte, 947). Identical and entire sheepskin contemporary bindings, with minor damage caused by biophagous insects
