Provenienza: Endro Wardoyo (1935-2003); ambassador Gerardo Carante.
Born in Manila from Spanish parents, after having studied in many schools like the National Academy of Art in New York, Antonio Blanco began to travel around the world until in 1952 he reached Bali where he settled permanently marrying Ni Ronji, a famous dancer.
His painting, evanescent in its formal rendering, focused in particular on the female figure, investigated in its most sensual aspects, deeply inspired by the culture of the inhabitants in which he chose to live most of his life.
This painting belonged to Endro Wardoyo (1935-2003), a Javanese painter best known for his paintings with popular themes, Wardoyo was also an appreciated portraitist. His works were collected by President Sukarno. He taught for many years at the Indonesian Institute of Art in Yogyakarta.
