Aluminum Commemorative Cup - "The twenty-three who went down with the ship" (kaf-gimel yordei ha-sira), marking the deportation of the immigrants on 14.8.46. (see detailed information). Rare and Special. Belonged to an immigrant. Carvings of an immigrant ship. The deportation date 14.8.46 is engraved on the cup.

Rare Aluminum Cup, handcarving of a ship, flags of Israel and England on the tip of the mast, and the number "23" carved on the side of the ship, apparently in commemoration of "the 23 who went down with the ship" (yordei Ha'sira). The bottom of the cup has a large English-letters engraving of the illegal immigrant's name "Brecher".

The date engraved on the cup 14.8.1946 - Moshe Sharet demanded from his place of arrest in the Latrun Base to continue and expand operations of illegal immigration and settlement even at the price of violent clashes with the British authorities. As a proponent of the "close battle" approach and a participating member in its design, Sharet called to commit acts of terror only in response to the violent actions made by the British in halting immigration, and the deportation of illegal immigrants out of the country from the Haifa port to detention in Cyprus, which was conducted with the use of force on the 13-14th of August 1946.

A very Rare Item.
