Friedrich Goldscheider ”Nubian slave” 19th century - Polychrome terracotta sculpture. It represents a nude lady with a headscarf tied at the waist, with metal shackles, to a tree stump. She is standing on a naturally inclined square base. Two stamps ”Friedrich Goldscheider” and ”Reproduction reservée” are noted on the reverse along with the numbering ”1393 / 127 / 25”. On the front is an inscription ”J. Jaques.”. Provenance: Great family collection, Germany, since 90's. References: Bonhams, February 28, 2006, lot 108. Height: 57.5 cm
