Spherical 'Yàoshī zhū' agate bead, Tang dynasty - Spherical carved agate ”药师珠” (Yàoshī zhū) or medicinal pearl bead with a matching white line in the centre. The patterns of each bead are naturally formed and belong to the ”天珠” (tiān zhū) or ”Dzi” type of beads. Culturally, they are used by Tibetan pharmacists and were used in trade.
