José Renau Montoro (1875 - 1941) ”Apparition of the Virgin to San Roque”, 1906 - Oil on canvas. Signed and dated ”J. Renau, Valencia 1906” in the lower right corner. It shows the apparition of the Virgin and Child, arranged on a Doric capital column, to Saint Roch. The latter kneels before the vision, in the lower right-hand corner, timidly raising his eyes towards her. In the centre, the holy spirit is shown, surrounded by a celestial aura and a court of small angels that flutter around him.  Size: 128 x 100 cm; Size with frame: 168 x 137 cm
