Agate “Banzhu” Dzi bead, Liao dynasty - A lenticular agate bead with a transverse perforation. It has a gently domed circular shape, characterised by an ‘eye’ pattern of concentric circles in sapphire blue tones with a white rim. Traditionally, these objects are regarded as amulets.
