Shoushan Rock ‘Landscape with Beasts’, Qing Dynasty - A sculpture carved from orange-hued Shoushan stone, mounted on a base of fine wood carved with plant motifs. The surface, with its irregular and organic contours, displays a richly detailed relief depicting a mountain landscape with pine trees and mythical beasts emerging from the crags.
