Spinach-green jade seal, ‘Dragon and Pearl’, Qing Dynasty - A spinach-green jade seal of intense colour with subtle dark flecks. The sculpted upper finial depicts a dragon in high relief, crouching with its claws outstretched whilst guarding the flaming pearl between its jaws and scaly body. The square base bears an inscription carved in seal script. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912) or later. Size: 4.9 x 4.8 x 4.7 cm Weight: 226 g Provenance: ‘Dragon Seals’ private collection, Paris, France.
