Pareja de ángeles de Pedro Duque Cornejo
Attributed to Pedro Duque Cornejo, Seville, second half of the 17th century
"Couple of Torcher Angels"
Two carved, gilt, polychrome and stewed wood sculptures. Each one holds a torch in their hand and with a flexed knee they seem to fly. The treatment of the hair, the clothing and the posture are reminiscent of those of the author Pedro Duque Cornejo, found on the main altar of the Church of S. Luís de los Franceses in Seville.
Height: 114 and 122 cms.
